Especially for personal websites, keep it simple:

1. Use your name in the title of your site.
   
2. Make sure you have stuff on your website. Update it every once in a while too! Websites that don’t seem to change at all over time seem abandoned and won’t get prioritized in search results.
3. Don’t copy and paste posts or pages from another site. Link to stuff instead. Duplicated content from another site looks like spam, and if its someone else’s content, its theft!
4. Make sure your site isn’t slow! If you use images that are too large, they will take a long time to load, resize them!
5. Use the alternative text on your images, and if its a picture of you, use your name. This is something you should do anyway.
